Things are quickly heating up between the USA and North Korea, and there are no signs it will slow down after the Pentagon said Friday the military stands ready to "fight tonight", if necessary.

"These statements are irresponsible and risky, and also senselessly provide a boon to domestic North Korean propaganda which has long sought to portray the United States as a threat to their people", read the letter which was spearheaded by Rep. John Conyers of Missouri.

Trump raised alarm around the world - and particularly in Asia - by warning that North Korea would face "fire and fury like the world has never seen" if it were to keep threatening the US.

Rep. Keith Ellison (D., Minn.) quickly walked back remarks he made Friday that North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un was acting "more responsible" than President Donald Trump, saying it was "tailor-made for somebody to misuse".
