Derek Wolfe Carted Off Field With Ankle Injury


Broncos fans can let out a sigh of relief after Wolfe was carted off the field Saturday morning with what was thought to be a "serious injury".

Wolfe was a key player on the Broncos' Super Bowl 50 team as he was a force against the run and as an inside pass rusher.

Wolfe appeared unable to put any pressure on his right leg as he was helped by trainers from the cart into the team's facility.

Wolfe said that he "dodged a bullet", and then posted a photo of his swollen ankle to Twitter. Doesn't believe will be serious.

"It's an ankle injury". He also was sent for an MRI exam following practice.

It hurts the Broncos on multiple levels. He combined for 51 tackles last season with 5.5 sacks. He bulked up over the summer, saying he added 20 pounds of muscle because "I was like 285 a year ago and it was a little too light holding the point". Winn tore his ACL.
