Tim Tebow greets autistic fan, hits three-run home run

In the top of the seventh inning of the St. Lucie Mets game against the Charlotte Stone Crabs on Jul. 29, Tebow was in the on-deck circle and a fan Seth Bosch, who was nine at the time, wanted to meet him.

"When Seth came back to his seat, he was crying", Ileanna Bosch told Fennelly.

As if that wasn't good enough, Tebow was next at bat and stepped up to the plate, and a few swings later, he crushed a home run, the crowd erupting.

After the game, Tebow and Seth met again where Ileanna took photos of the two together. The 10-year-old (who was 9 at the time the video was filmed) has high-functioning autism and suffers from a genetic disorder known as neurofibromatosis that produces tumors on his nerve tissue. "And then Tim hit the homer". How does that happen?

After his brief meeting with Tebow, Seth was so overcome by emotion that he started to cry.

Both minor league baseball teams for which he has played have set attendance records, and he has also attracted huge crowds in road games.

Tebow's stint in baseball gets maligned by some and over-analyzed by others, but at the end of the day when moments like this happen can you really be cynical about it?
