WhatsApp UPI Payments Feature Spotted in Leaked Screenshot


WhatsApp users can initiate direct bank to bank UPI transfers from the chat app itself.

A new Beta update will enable the feature on the app. It further explains the process- users need to agree with the WhatsApp payments and bank terms and privacy policy by tapping on the agree button. UPI or Unified Payments Interface allows users to transfer money to another user, by just knowing that user's UPI address or Virtual Payment Address.

Whatsapp has been uploading quite a few updates on the Google Play Beta Program lately.

Publishing its latest statistics, WhatsApp announced in a blog post: "Just a year ago, we shared that one billion people around the world use WhatsApp every month".
