GTA 5 Enjoys Another Wildly Successful Quarter

Four years after its release, Grand Theft Online continues to churn out new content for players and more profit for its owners, with the past three months marking the game's best quarter in its history, Take-Two Interactive said this week.

The delay of Red Dead Redemption 2 comes as good news for other publishers, as now they have one fewer competitor to worry about.

Thanks to a vibrant community, GTA V keeps receiving community-created content; recently a mod for the title was released, which allows players to explore space and even fight aliens. With Grand Theft Auto V continuing to deliver for Take-Two, the company probably isn't too concerned about the immediacy of a follow-up. Some have already spoken out on the GTA 5 mods website to state that even with a GeForce GTX 980 graphics card, they're unable to run a mod-less game on default max graphics at 60 frames per second.

It looks like "Grand Theft Auto Online" will have another record year. Rockstar is likely most-focused on launching Red Dead Redemption 2 first before revealing a lot of information about GTA 6. Their evidence stems from Rockstar hiring Youree Harris, who plays Miss Cleo on TV, to voice the character in their game. The game was originally scheduled for the second half of 2017 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, before being pushed back into the second quarter of 2018.

UPDATE: Tim Neff says, the resume on circulating around the web is fake.

Take-Two did mention Red Dead during their financial report, but when pressed as to whether there'd be a PC version refused to confirm anything. Rockstar has a reputation for exponentially increasing the size of its game worlds, so a GTA game spanning the whole of a fictionalized United States might not be too insane to consider. But you can also spend real money to pad your virtual wallet.
