Essential Phone coming to United Kingdom, followed by Western Europe and Japan

Essential's plan to topple the sector's elite begins with the Essential Phone, developed by Rubin and a team of over 100 employees, with many alumni from Apple, Google, HTC and other industry giants.

Still excited about this phone or are you fully focused on the Note 8 and Pixel 2 at this point?

Meanwhile, the company also lost head of communication Andy Fouché earlier in the month.

Brian Wallace, vice president of marketing at Essential, left the company last week, according to Business Insider. Previously, Wallace and Fouché worked at augmented reality startup Magic Leap, while Wallace also helped establish the "Next Big Thing" campaign for Samsung's US smartphone launch.

Honda Accord is here, now as Mark 10
Honda has officially unveiled the tenth-generation Accord, set to be internationally launched later this year. Coming to the design front, the new Accord looks sharper and agiler as compared to the current generation.

The Essential Phone comes with a 5.7 inch display with a Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and the handset is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor.

That's according to the Financial Times, which reports that Essential is in talks with United Kingdom carriers, namely EE, about a potential exclusivity deal. Essential COO Niccolo de Masi sat down with FT for a brief chat and revealed that bit about launch and also threw in some worldwide plans. It will also feature a modular-esque accessory system that includes add-ons like a 360-degree camera attachment. The firm is reportedly holding similar talks across Europe and in Japan.

But after missing its initial June U.S. launch date, Essential is playing catchup to bring its Essential Phone smartphone to market. This combined with the for-tech-enthusiasts approach could become Essential's core identity but also its downfall. For the time being, Fouché's position is being held by Essential's head of product marketing.
