Chelsea interested in signing Sergio Aguero from Manchester City

His future at the Etihad under Pep Guardiola was put in doubt earlier in the year after he lost his starting place to Gabriel Jesus.

Chelsea are reportedly considering a swoop for Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero, and the club's supporters are enjoying every minute of it.

Chelsea are in search of an elite striker having missed out on Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United recently, and have been linked with the likes of Álvaro Morata, Andrea Belotti and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang since missing out on Lukaku.

Chelsea have the funds to put in a tempting bid to City for Aguero and to offer the striker attractive terms, while they may feel their status as Premier League champions could prove valuable in negotiations.

Last season the 29-year-old made 45 appearances across all competitions for Manchester City, scoring 33 goals.

Antonio Conte is searching for a new striker after telling Spain global Diego Costa earlier in the summer that he was free to leave the club.

When asked if Aguero would stay at City in May, chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak said: "Absolutely".

Speaking earlier this summer, the latter said: "I've read a lot of the speculation on this and it's ridiculous. It has never been in doubt".

And one of those targets is understood to be Manchester City hitman Sergio Aguero.

Aguero was signed from Atletico Madrid for £38m in 2011 and has three years left on his current City deal.

Over the past 24 hours, rumours of Sergio Aguero moving to Chelsea have seriously picked up.
