Mehbooba said that "Outside forces are involved behind rising violence in Kashmir". The tense situation in the Valley, glaring gaps in governance, the inability of her ministers in breaking the political impasse in South Kashmir was the main theme of the discussion, though the meeting was called to discuss arrangements for the party's founders' day on August 3.
"She is likely to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Rajnath Singh", they said. "We need backing of the whole country and all political parties to emerge victorious", Mehbooba said.
The United States, France, Nepal and several other countries had earlier strongly condemned the terrorist attack on Amarnath pilgrims in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir on July 10 in which seven pilgrims lost their lives and 15 others were injured.
"We are not fighting for law and order situation in Kashmir. Their attempt is to spoil the atmosphere in J&K", she said.
