Actress molestation: Malayalam actor Dilip's bail plea rejected


Kochi: Actor Dileep, arrested in connection with the abduction and assault of a popular Malayalam actress, being produced in a court in Kochi.

The police were asked to bring Dileep back to the court to unlock the mobile phones he had surrendered.

There are reports of raid at Dileep's house but this has not been confirmed by the police. Later he was sent to Aluva Sub Jail.

On Friday, a huge crowd had gathered in front of the court premises and booed the actor just like they did on the previous days. Earlier, the prosecution had argued that the remarks made by the actor against the attacked actress only reveals his mental stature and, therefore, he should not be granted bail.

The actor, however, can challenge the court's order in the same court or higher courts including the Kerela High Court. "An application will be filed before the apex court on Monday" he added.

DiNardo was accused of illegally possessing a shotgun and ammunition after being involuntarily committed to a mental institution. On Thursday, DiNardo's lawyer announced that his client had admitted to the killings and was cooperating with investigators.

DiNardo and Kratz allegedly murdered the three others two days after Patrick, during two separate drug deals. The two then placed Finnochario's body in a metal tank DiNardo referred to as a "pig roaster".

Police had taken the 48-year-old actor, arrested on July 10, to various places in Kochi, Thrissur and Thodupuzha to carry out their investigation. Earlier, the local court had remanded the actor to 14 days judicial custody. He remained calm and did not react to mediapersons' questions.

Police have claimed that the conspiracy to abduct and assault the actress and film the dastardly act was hatched by Dileep and "Pulsar" Suni, the prime accused in the case.

Dileep seems to have personal grudges against the actress and hence planned this abduction.

Reports suggest that investigators had conducted a raid at Dileep's residence on Saturday to get the visuals of the abducted actress which were captured by main accused Pulsar Suni and his gang when she was assaulted in a moving vehicle near Athani in Angamaly on February 17. More people from film industry will be quizzed under the case.
