Cousins, Porzingis, Lowry to play in NBA Africa Game

They will be joined by Leandro Barbosa (most recently with the Phoenix Suns; Brazil), Jaylen Brown (Boston Celtics; US), Wilson Chandler (Nuggets; US), DeMarcus Cousins (New Orleans Pelicans; US), Andre Drummond (Detroit Pistons; US), Courtney Lee (New York Knicks; US), Kyle Lowry (Raptors; US), CJ McCollum (Portland Trail Blazers; US) and Kristaps Porzingis (Knicks; Latvia).

The rosters were announced Thursday for the second game featuring players born in Africa and second-generation African players against a team from the rest of the world.

Team World edged the home Team Africa 101-97 to win the inaugural game. That roster has Luol Deng and Thabo Sefolosha serving as captains along with Bismack Biyombo, Clint Capela, Gorgui Dieng, Joel Embiid, Serge Ibaka, Luc Mbah a Moute, Mejri, Emmanuel Mudiay, Victor Oladipo and Dennis Schroder.

Nowitzki will co-captain his side with the Charlotte Hornets' Kemba Walker.

"Our return to Johannesburg this summer is part of the league's continued commitment to bring the authentic National Basketball Association experience to fans around the world", said National Basketball Association commissioner Adam Silver in a statement. The first NBA Africa Game, which was held in 2015, marked the first time that a major North American sports league hosted an outing on African soil. This is the second edition of the event in South Africa.
