It marked a stark change in fortune from their earlier ill-fated attempt which ended up with the pair lying prone on the floor with Sharon winded and Andy knocked out. An ambulance was called and they were taken to a hospital and discharged several hours later.

One couple definitely did not have the time of their lives while recently attempting to pull off Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze's iconic lift from the 1987 classic Dirty Dancing.

Additionally, Sharon said "Dirty Dancing" has always been one of her favorite movies.

The couple-who've seen Dirty Dancing more than 30 times-say they were at a beer garden when they decided the lift would be a great addition to their wedding dance. While at a beer garden with their family, the couple made a decision to give the lift an impromptu practice run, The Telegraph reports.

'We immediately set about trying to recreate that iconic moment. So I looked at Andy and suggested we have it as our first dance at our wedding.

The pair had been copying their younger niece and nephew, who Sharon said were "a lot slimmer" than them. "Everybody else slow dances, so we thought we'd jazz it up a bit", Sharon said.
