Sam Querrey defeats defending champ Andy Murray in Wimbledon quarterfinals

The No. 1 men's tennis player lost to American Sam Querrey in five sets Wednesday in their Wimbledon quarterfinal matchup, so he already wasn't in the best mood for his post-match press conference.

Murray struggled with a hip injury after the third set and Querrey took full advantage to book his spot in the last-four.

"I'm still in shock myself", Querrey, 29, said after the match.

"It feels great and it's a dream come get to a semi-final and have it happen at Wimbledon makes it a bit more special".

- The 35-year-old Swiss, who is yet to drop a set at this year's championships, hit 46 winners to seal the victory in just under two hours on Centre Court.

"I mean, it's not like tennis is the most popular sport in America".

"What was very tough was the beginning of the fifth set", said Muller after Cilic advanced to his first Wimbledon semifinal. I kept swinging away.

"I beg your pardon?", the journalist responded, not appearing to understand what the sportsman said.

With a loss of 1640 points, Murray's inability to defend his title puts his No. 1 officially at risk.

He will face Tomas Berdych next while Federer takes on Milos Raonic in a rematch of last year's semi-final, which was won by the Canadian. I was happy about that."The first man to reach the quarterfinals was Marin Cilic".

"Now I'll sit down with my team and look at the longer term, and come up with a plan for what I have to do next". I predicted that Cilic would have a good run, and he's proving to do so.

Berdych reached the Wimbledon final in 2010, losing to Rafael Nadal.
