It comes after cladding from 190 high-rise buildings in 51 local authority areas failed combustibility tests conducted by the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG).
Sydney's Inner West Council last week said staff were already working to identify buildings that should be checked so "when the state government confirms its high-rise fire safety task force, we will be ready to go".
She said: "While we continue to be confident that we have stringent building and fire safety regulations, following the tragic events at Grenfell Tower it is imperative that we undertake a thorough review of our regulations".
David Orr, chief executive of the National Housing Federation, said there was no point continuing the tests because they had produced a "conclusive" result - aluminum composite cladding "simply does not pass these tests and is deemed unsafe".
Cladding is being removed by King's College Hospital in London, Sheffield Children's NHS trust and North Middlesex University Hospitals following failed safety tests.
Scottish Conservative housing spokesman Graham Simpson said the Scottish Government should ensure every tower block is fitted with sprinkler systems.
Residents of the tower block have been frustrated at the authorities' response to the fire, with trust in the public figures handling the aftermath of the disaster plummeting.
GRT said every household that wanted to move from emergency accommodation had been made offers in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC) or neighbouring boroughs, while 19 families were contacted and had either refused assistance or were overseas.

Experts from trade body the British Automatic Fire Sprinkler Association (BAFSA), said that retro-fitting sprinkler systems could cost an average of £300,000 per block - or more for larger high rises.
Housing services company Lakehouse is at the centre of a fraud inquiry following a three-year investigation by police and Hackney council.
He said: "Tragically, there are still 23 flats where despite our investigative efforts we have been unable to trace or speak to anyone who was in those properties on the night".
The Met Police have confirmed 10 people have been arrested and two people interviewed under caution since they were informed of the allegations in 2014.
Company chairman Bob Holt told the Standard: 'We are very happy because there have been many people saying they were woken by the alarms'.
Grenfell Tower is only the most recent tragedy to put Britain's emergency workers in the news.
